Who can be a volunteer?
Anyone over the age of 18 and at least one year out of high school can volunteer!
What will I be doing as a volunteer?
A GloryBound Volunteer assist the GloryBound planning team by serving as role models and servant leaders working behind the scenes at the Gathering hotel and the off-site experiential center.
Each volunteer will be assigned to work with one or more of the following areas; programs, servant events, spiritual life, or in the experiential center. (Preference will be considered)
What can I expect as a volunteer?
As a gathering volunteer, you will have a unique look at the gathering from behind the scenes. You will have some early morning and/or late evenings serving the youth and leaders of the Texas District. It will also allow you to create new friendships with other volunteers and leaders of the gathering.
What are the dates of Glorybound?
GloryBound will take place Thursday-Sunday, July 12-15, 2018 at the Westin, Irving and Crown of Life Lutheran Church.
All volunteers will need to be at the gathering hotel the morning of the 12th for training and set-up. (A specific time will be communicated as the gathering gets closer.) After the gathering concludes on Sunday morning, all volunteers are needed to clean up from gathering activities.
What must I do to volunteer?
Complete the Glorybound volunteer application and a background check. Once approved, you will need to complete the registration process and send in your registration fee.
What is the cost?
Each volunteer must pay a $100 registration fee and will need to cover the cost of most of their meals.
What is included in the registration fee?
Access to the gathering program, hotel accommodations (if needed), volunteer t-shirt, and some meals.
Why must I have a background check completed?
Each volunteer over 18 working with minors must have a background check to ensure safety for all. The gathering staff will run this check as part of the application process.
